Like any natural material, wood needs care and maintenance.

I’ve made a few wooden candle holders. However, they should be used with extreme caution. Even when a candle is placed inside a metal holder, the metal can still heat up. An open flame near wood is a real fire risk.

For that reason, I recommend using the candle holders as decorative pieces only. Wood is a combustible material.
